JORDI GALCERAN (Barcelona, 1964).<\/strong> He is a playwright and screenwriter who writes in both Catalan and Spanish. She studied Catalan Philology at the Universitat de Barcelona. Since his youth he has worked as an actor, director and author in independent theater companies. From 1988 he began to write comedies, some of which are performed on amateur circuits directed by himself.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In 1995, he won the Born prize for theater with the play Paraules encadenades<\/em><\/strong>, a title with which he also won the Critic Serra d’Or prize in 1997. With Dakota<\/em><\/strong> (1997), he won the Ignasi Iglesias prize from the Institut del Teatre of the Diputaci\u00f3 de Barcelona in 1995.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Surf<\/em><\/strong> and Fruita<\/em><\/strong> are two previous comedies that premiered in 1998.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Together with Esteve Miralles and Albert Guinovart, he wrote the musical shows Parad\u00eds<\/em><\/strong> (2000) and Gaud\u00ed<\/em><\/strong> (2002), works that won the Butaca award for best musical show.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The work with which he has achieved the greatest national and international success has been The Gronholm Method<\/em><\/strong> (2003), winner of a Max Award. It has already been seen by more than two million viewers and has been performed in some seventy countries.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In 2005 he premiered Carnaval<\/em><\/strong>, and in 2007, Canc\u00fan<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Burundanga<\/em><\/strong> is his longest-running comedy in an uninterrupted season and is currently already accumulating its thirteenth season in Madrid.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

El cr\u00e8dit<\/em><\/strong> (2012) also achieved great international recognition and has already been released in around twenty countries.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

He has also made a dozen theatrical adaptations, including Conversations with Mom <\/em><\/strong>(2010), Los Asquerosos<\/strong>(2020) or the Spanish adaptation of the musical The Lion King. He has also more than thirty translations by authors such as Goldoni, Gogol, De Filippo, Yasmina Reza or David Mamet.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In addition to his theatrical activity, he has written the scripts for different television series and films. He has also produced several short stories with the Germans Miranda collective and has collaborated with La Vanguardia and Diari Ara.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The last work that he has written and premiered is Fitzroy <\/em><\/strong>(Teatre Borr\u00e0s of Barcelona, 2023).<\/p>
