SERGI BELBEL (Terrassa, Barcelona, 1963)<\/strong>. Author, translator, theater director, and educator. He graduated in Romance Philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1986. He was a Professor of Playwriting at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona from 1988 to 2006. He was the Artistic Director of the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya from 2006 to 2013. He was the President of the Board of the Sala Beckett Foundation in Barcelona from 2016 to 2023.<\/p>

His notable works include Minim.mal Show<\/em><\/strong> (written with Miquel G\u00f3rriz, 1986), Elsa Scnheider<\/em><\/strong> (1989), T\u00e0lem <\/em><\/strong>(1990), Car\u00edcies<\/em><\/strong> (1991), Despr\u00e9s de la pluja<\/em><\/strong> (1993), Morir<\/em><\/strong> (1994), La sang<\/em><\/strong> (1998), El temps de Planck<\/em><\/strong>(2000), Forasters<\/em><\/strong> (2004), M\u00f2bil<\/em><\/strong> (2005), A la Toscana<\/em><\/strong> (2007), Fora de joc<\/em><\/strong> (2010), Les roses de la vida<\/em><\/strong>(2017), Si no t\u2019hagu\u00e9s conegut<\/em><\/strong> (2018) Hamlet.01<\/em><\/strong> (2022) and Lali Symon<\/em><\/strong> (2023).<\/p>

His works have premiered in over forty countries in Europe, America, and Asia, and have been translated into over twenty-five languages. The French version of his work Despr\u00e9s de la pluja<\/em><\/strong> (Apr\u00e8s la pluie<\/em>) premiered at the Com\u00e9die Fran\u00e7aise in October 2017. He has directed productions of many theater authors, both classical and contemporary. He has also written screenplays for cinema and television. He is the creator of the series Si no t\u2019hagu\u00e9s conegut<\/em> (TV3, DiagonalTV, and Netflix, 2018).<\/p>

He has received several awards, including the Premi Ignasi Igl\u00e9sias (1987), Premi Nacional de Literatura Catalana (1993-95), Premi Born (1995), Premio Nacional de Literatura Dram\u00e1tica del Ministerio de Cultura (1996), Premi Moli\u00e8re for the best comedy for Apr\u00e8s la pluie<\/em><\/strong> (1999), Premi Nacional de Teatre de la Generalitat de Catalunya (2000), Premio Max for international projection\u00a0(2002), el Premi Ciutat de Barcelona (2003), varios Premis Butaca y un Premi Sant Jordi de novela (2021).<\/span><\/p>
